BPS Distance Table

Port To Port has been developed to be a highly functional tool for obtaining marine distance and routing information . The software is developed around the latest version of the world renowned BP Shipping Marine Distance Tables.

Port To Port is currently supplied in two versions, Professional and Standard. Both versions are covered by this help system, where functionality is limited to the Professional edition the relevant topic is appropriately annotated.

Obtaining a distance between two ports is simplicity itself, enter the first few characters of the departure port, repeat the process for the destination port and press RETURN.

However, the functionality of the software goes far beyond that. Once a distance has been calculated, the route is displayed on the map and can be easily changed to avoid any locations that have been used. Furthermore, building a route that goes via a specific location is just as easy.

Having calculated a route either between just two ports, or for a complex voyage involving multiple load and/or discharge ports, in the Professional edition, the details can be added to the Voyage Planner where port delays/in port time can be introduced, speeds varied for individual legs of the voyage and bunker details edited and reviewed.

All of this functionality is fully explained in this help file which should assist you in getting the most out the system.

Whilst the routes used in the compilation of the distances supplied by this software have been developed by experienced mariners, and every care has been taken to ensure the routes are navigable, the software is NOT TO BE USED FOR NAVIGATION.

It's FREE!

Portable Chart Plotter

Have you ever wondered onboard where the heck are you in the middle of the ocean?
WORRY NO MORE! Because you can have your personal plotter right at your laptop or PC.
Introducing my "Portable Chart Plotter" in USB.

Just plug this USB in your computer together with your GPS and there you can navigate, plot, search and pin-point you position in the Digital Charts. Fully operational, easy to use chart plotter right your fingertips. Applicable to Pilots, Master, Officers/Engineers, aspiring Officers, for crew and engine personnel who wants to monitor your ships' track and position. You can experience freedom from worrying of where you are in the world.
Testimonies from Masters and Officers who have used this program will surely open your mind to purchase your own personal plotter.
"We have two digital ECDIS onboard, we are approaching Jakarta and I have observed that we have already passed the buoys and I upon checking the ECDIS, I found out that the data does not coincide with the actual plotted marks. It was then that the system has frozen and it takes time to reboot the system. Good thing I have a personal chart plotter installed in my laptop and at an instance I was able to have it running and been able to maneuver the vessel away from the shallow water."
"I am a newly promoted Master on a livestock vessel. My previous ship is installed with digital chart plotter. After my vessel was scrapped, I found it too challenging to be hired again on a different type of vessel. So, after months of applying, I was able to join a much larger livestock ship. Upon my command on this vessel, I found out that the ship is not equipped with ECDIS. From there, I found its not so easy for me anymore to navigate again with paper charts unlike with ECDIS you can automatically see where you are just by looking at the monitor. So I ordered this portable chart plotter and GPS receiver and from then navigation is so fun even the my Officers were impressed."
"I am a Chief Officer on a tanker vessel. I have this chart plotter installed and I can monitor the vessel's track right inside my cabin. So as soon I take my watch on the bridge, I am already aware of where we are exactly. Great program."
"I am a Master on bulk vessel. My vessel is not equipped with ECDIS but I have this chart plotter installed on my laptop I can monitor my vessel in my cabin."
"I am a Chief Officer on a Bulk ship. I have this Portable Chart Plotter in USB with GPS receiver. Tuwing palitan ng gwardya nagdadala na lng ng laptop ang kapwa ko opisyal at kasama sa turnover ang USB at GPS. Cool di ba. Kasi lahat ng previous track ay nandun na sa USB kaya pwede na niyang ipagpapatuloy ang passage monitoring."
"I am a newly promoted 2nd Officer, and I have this chart plotter installed on my PC. Eventhough this not licensed or officially recognized, I find it handy and useful to my work as a 2nd Mate. Plotting has never been an easy task but having this program surely helped me ease my workload. Complete with tides and chart routing. ETA monitoring is just a quick glance on my PC monitor."
A very handy and powerful program to invest. All you have to do is install the GPS driver and plug the portable chart plotter on any unused USB port. And setting up ComPort is an easy step. Even a novice mariner can set it up by following a very simple steps on the video tutorial included in the USB disk.
